An advanced class on how to step-by-step guide your team to migrate from a classic to an AI-native Scrum Team.
Think of a Scrum Team from an organizational perspective. Scrum itself isn't their end goal. It is simply a means to help them achieve what they truly want. They have four main expectations:
Looking at these four expectations, AI is a true game-changer for the first three, and it can significantly support the fourth as well. Organizations don't really care which framework or methodology you use. They care about achieving their desired expectations.
Around 2023, AI became accessible to the general public. Now that the hype has faded, companies realize that if they don't invest in AI, they'll lose a major competitive advantage.
Imagine a company sees that building the same product with fewer people, faster, and at a higher quality is practically possible. Be honest, would they ignore that huge potential? Absolutely not.
Every dollar matters to companies. Hiring a human team member also brings significant responsibilities. For example, imagine it costs around $6,000 USD per month for each Scrum Team member. Now, if they see that leveraging AI costs only a few hundred dollars per month for the same work, they won't hesitate to cut costs as long as it's practical and real.
This scenario I've described is quickly becoming the new norm. So here's the takeaway: AI Transformation is inevitable. The only way to secure your job and serve your organization in a new landscape is to embrace this reality and prepare for the new norm. That's exactly why I designed this course to help organizations and Scrum Teams start their AI Transformation journey with a solid, practical blueprint.
An AI-native Scrum Team is not simply a Scrum Team that just uses AI tools. It is a team that incorporates AI capabilities into how it plans, builds, delivers, collaborates, and learns while still preserving Scrum's core principles. These are the specifications of an AI-native Scrum Team:
As a significant amount of work is delegated to AI, fewer human team members are needed.
Focused on strategic decisions and validates AI-generated customer value.
Devise, setup, and orchestrate AI agents. They don't write code; they write precise prompts and review the AI-generated work.
Becomes the AI catalyst and coach, accountable for the team's effectiveness in the AI landscape.
The team consciously uses AI in all aspects of their work to plan, build, deliver, collaborate, and learn.
As building the product is no longer the bottleneck, shorter Sprints are used to have more experiments.
The team not only leverages AI to build the product, but also adds AI features to the product to deliver new value to customers.
Team members deeply know how AI works and how to effectively collaborate with AI.
Dear future Scrum Master,
The current job market for Scrum Masters is undeniably challenging. I'm writing this letter to honestly express my concerns and to seek your valuable guidance on how I can better prepare myself for the future.
One of the most troubling trends I've noticed recently is the growing whisper that Agile and Scrum are dying. Personally, I strongly disagree with this claim. However, my opinion alone doesn't shape the market; what managers believe does. And increasingly, I see them buying into this narrative. This shift is already leading to layoffs and a decline in the adoption of Scrum and Agile practices. As a result, I'm genuinely worried about my job security. When I look at job boards, I see fewer opportunities for Scrum Masters.
To make matters worse, many companies view me solely as a meeting facilitator. Through that lens, it becomes very difficult to demonstrate my real value. At the same time, they often expect me to act like a magic bullet, quickly boosting team productivity while resisting any change to their own counterintuitive behaviors. Without formal authority, I often find myself stuck in a rabbit hole.
Another growing concern is the rise of AI. I keep hearing that AI can perform many tasks faster, cheaper, and more efficiently. Recently, I even heard that AI could take over development tasks like coding and refactoring. If that becomes the norm, Scrum Teams may shrink in size. And if teams get smaller, it's hard to see where I would fit in. I fear I could easily become overhead and redundant.
Switching to another profession also feels very risky. I'm not even sure which path I should take, and if I invest years becoming an expert in a new field, there's no guarantee I'll still be relevant by then.
These are the conversations that I have in my mind every day. I would appreciate it if you could support me by guiding me through my AI Transformation journey.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Best Regards
Current Scrum Master
Scrum Masters are accountable for the Scrum Team's effectiveness. Additionally, they serve as Change Agents within their organization. This unique position makes them a great fit to lead the AI Transformation for their Scrum Teams.
If AI truly represents the future of work, why wouldn't Scrum Masters prepare themselves, not only to secure their jobs but also to serve their teams and organizations in the AI landscape?!
This is where investing time in learning AI becomes a game-changer. Imagine refusing to learn or leverage AI, while your teammates, colleagues, and friends continuously improve their ways of working with it. Where will you be in two years? Most likely, you'll be irrelevant and no longer a good fit for your team, because the team will demand new and different capabilities.
Now think the opposite. Imagine you prepare yourself for the new future. You can guide and lead your Scrum Teams through every step of their AI Transformation, making yourself an undeniable asset.
The decision is simple. You have two options:
1- You don't prepare yourself for the new future, and lose your relevance.
2- You prepare yourself for the new future and secure your job by bringing new value to your Scrum Teams and organization.
If you've chosen the second option, this course is for you.
